Great Teachers Make All The Difference!

Lalvulmawi has been teaching sponsored children in India at Sielmat Higher Secondary School (SCHSS) since 1979! She has a deep love for the Lord and for leading children to Him through Christian Education. We had the chance to talk with Lalvulmawi about her journey, and wanted to share a bit of her story with you:

Q: Can you briefly describe how you became a teacher at SCHSS?

A: “I was born and raised in a poor family. My father was a teacher in a mission school earning a meager salary. As soon as I passed the matriculation exam, my father suggested that I search for a job as a teacher. Even though I was only 17 years old, I worked as a substitute teacher in a mission school.

I had the privilege of meeting Dr. Rochunga Pudaite, and his wife, Dr. Mawii Pudaite. I was very inspired by their passion to spread the Gospel through the ministry of Bibles For The World. I was convinced that I could take part in their ministry if I became a teacher at SCHSS by providing poor students with an education.

I had a lot of pressure from family and friends to take a government job, but I passed up those opportunities because I believe that God brought me to this specific school to serve Him and I am committed to that purpose.

I consider myself a missionary, sharing the Gospel with the students that have been placed in my care. I have opportunities each day to bless them spiritually, mentally, and physically. It is my hope that each of my students would accept the Lord Jesus as their personal Savior and make the best of their God given talents to gain knowledge to serve Him and grow in grace and love all of the days of their lives.

It is teachers like Lalvulmawi who make all the difference in the lives of the students who are part of the Partner Parents ministry. You can be a blessing by providing a student with a quality, Christian education by becoming a Partner Parent today
